Duct design starts with the basic principles and types of pressure and how they are generated. The basic principles of pressure are then applied to duct systems. The class explores the two main types of duct system design Velocity and Equal friction as well as their various sub types. Simple Duct Design explores in depth the types of fittings and how they affect different types of duct systems. The class provides hands on and practical training on how to use a duct calculator as well as EL rates to insure a duct system is properly designed. SUMMARY:BPI - Building Analyst
DESCRIPTION:This training program will help you prepare for BPI’s Building Analyst written and field test which will be administered on the last day of the course. It will open your eyes to a new way of thinking about residential buildings. You will come to understand how the house works as a system\, why some homes fail\, and how to use the latest building science technology to help resolve residential heating\, cooling\, base load and air leakage problems. By using a “whole house” performance based approach\, you will address a comprehensive range of interrelated building issues and be able to provide your clients with a more comfortable\, safe\, durable\, and energy efficient home. \nFor Jackson EMC Network Contractors\, having a Building Analyst on staff is a basic requirement to maintain your eligibility to offer Jackson EMC low-interest financing and rebates associated with Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® improvements. Jackson EMC will sponsor one contractor per company for Building Analyst training; additional contractors are welcome at $1\,895/person. To verify eligibility\, contact Christy Queen at cqueen@jacksonemc.com. \nThis will be a Monday – Friday Class running from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Breakfast and Lunch will be provided on site.
